6/01/2004 - The expedition has begun! The Indianapolis Star has an outstanding article by George McLaren in the Indiana Living section titled He'll be up Superior - with a paddle. For those of you who didn't know, Dan was born and raised in the rural town of Brownsburg Indiana.

5/19/2004 - The Jackson Hole News&Guide, Sports Section has an great article on Dan's trip titled Musher Switches to Canoe. Dan is known in Jackson Wyoming for his dog sled racing and this article give some background on that side of Dan's career.
